My stay at The Grand Kandyan was incredible. The hotel is beautifully maintained, with a fantastic gym and a gorgeous pool. The location is perfect, right on a hill with stunning city views. I especially loved the attentive service from the staff, especially Shehani, who made our afternoon tea so special. The breakfast buffet was delightful, offering a wide variety of local and international dishes.

Unfortunately, several details left much to be desired. The safe and minibar both malfunctioned, and I found a persistent musty odor in the room from poor ventilation. Basic amenities like hand towels and a working hand shower were noticeably absent, which was unexpected for a hotel claiming higher standards. Although my complaints were acknowledged, the slow and repetitive service when addressing the mold issue felt frustrating. Plus, the spa had limited offerings with only one therapist available, which forced us to wait for treatments.
